Puppies are 7 weeks old

Oh how the puppies have blossomed in the past week and a half.  They are very playful and love to explore new things.  They have been playing with Fusion and Rosie a lot.  Fusion and Rosie are from our Jen x Singe litter and Jen is Havoc's mom.  These girls are 3/4 sisters to the puppies and absolutely LOVE the puppies.  Rosie is available to a performance or active home.
The first puppy, Mayhem, leaves for his new home on Monday.

Puppies @ 5 1/2 weeks

The Havoc x Singe puppies are growing up so fast.  They have sure come into their own personalities this week.  We have been fortunate to have good weather, for the most part.  We have only had a few days of rain, cold or snow in the past couple of weeks.  If it is not wet or super cold out the puppies can go in their outside pen and play for most of the day.  I love this because they come in nice and tired.  If it is bad weather out then they get to play in the entire dog room.

The first video is of the puppies playing in the dog room.  They met Harry, the Dutch Rabbit.

This video is from yesterday.  I expanded their outside pen and they used every inch of it.

New Puppy Pictures

There are a lot more pictures on our site www.hillcrestbordercollies.com.  I wanted to upload more to my blog, but blogger is being dumb at this moment and not allowing me to.
The puppies are so much fun.  They are explorative, but very into people.  They love to come and pile on our laps.
The weather was a bit cloudy today, but the rain held off and the puppies were able to spend many hours on the grass.

55 Degrees Out

It is 55 degrees outside here today, so the puppies have been able to enjoy their first time outside in the fresh air.  It took them no time at all to start exploring the entire pen.  I am taking advantage of the good weather while we have it because who knows what it will be like tomorrow.
I took some video of them, so I will put it on You Tube tonight.  I have to go get some things done first.
I am going to take new 4 week old pictures of them tomorrow while Connor is at Pre School.  Right now I want them to tire themselves out while enjoying the sun.

Risk

Here is a video of Risk's sliding teeter training and Lash is also at the end.  I am retraining them, this winter, to have a more consistent sliding teeter.

I shot this video from my office because if I am outside with the dogs then they just hover around me.  I can never shoot good video of the dogs playing, but now I can from my office.

The Weekend

Wow, what a great weekend it was.  The weather was beautiful, so that allowed me to do things on the ranch that I have not done in a while.  Of course the dogs were in tow and had a blast, as usual.  All of the troughs (sheep, alpacas, and horse) were emptied and cleaned.  It has been too cold lately to dump them out and scrub them.  That is what I did yesterday.
This morning we went and got hay from a new guy who has a ranch about 10 minutes from us.  I love to explore new places, but then again I always then want more acreage.  I used to live on 70 acres and now we have 10 acres.  Yes, 10 acres is better than the city, but I do not like neighbors and would love to be back out in that kind of land again.  Anyways, We found a part of the Deschutes River that we can take the dogs swimming in this summer.  Easy access and a quieter part of the river.  Yeah, I love swimming the dogs.  We also found a new area of BLM to take the dogs running on.  If the weather is nice next weekend then we will put the Mt. Bikes in the van with Connor's bike attachment and all of the dogs.  We will go for a nice exercise on bikes.

After we got hay today I came home and re did the puppy pen.  The puppies had been going potty on the newspaper, so it was time to bring in the potty box.  It will take about 2 days for the puppies to transition and then we will have minimal accidents outside of the potty area.

Here is a picture of our puppy pen.   Below that is a video of the puppies at 1 day shy of 4 weeks old.  They are really starting to play with toys now.  They actually take a toy in their mouth and shake it or drag it around.  They are too much fun!!!
